President's Letter

Queridos Hispanos,

First I want to take the time to say thank you to Jeannette Arbulu for the leadership, passion, and dedication she has given and continues to give to HAPA at a national level.

At this time, I would like to announce our new HNLC, our advisors and our champions.

1) First, I am proud to announce the new HAPA National Leadership Council (HNLC) members. Their term will be through Dec 2002. These Xerox employees came highly recommended and I selected them based on their:

a) active HAPA participation,
b) leadership skills,
c) passion and benevolence to move the Hispanic agenda forward,
d) role model behavior, and
e) commitment and track record to take action and perform

Each HNLC member will take on a different role to help move the Hispanic agenda forward at Xerox. In particular, Joe, Rita, and Jose will gather facts about the Chapters and help Hispanics at the regional level. Rosa will take the leadership role for HAPA to deliver a successful conference this year. Gloria will help move the Hispanic Women's agenda forward nationally. Norma will ensure we communicate timely and effectively at a national level and Helen will ensure we monitor and control our finances among other things.

Please join me in congratulating and thanking the new HNLC members for making the commitment, taking the responsibility, and volunteering their personal time for the next 2 years to help move the Hispanic agenda forward at Xerox.     3) Lastly, I am proud to communicate that Tom Dolan will continue to be our HAPA Champion this year. I am also thankful that Maryann Lawler will continue to be our HAPA Women's Network champion. Both Tom and Maryann will be our voice to senior management on our issues.

    My deepest gratitude goes to the new HNLC, the advisory board, and to our Champions for dedicating their time and energy to help the Xerox Hispanics grow and develop professionally and personally .
